Up-cycling old pants into a pouch

Hi

I am back with an easy DIY Project.

There is this favorite pair of pants of mine which I could not really throw away. Also, since many days I was thinking of making a pouch. But you know, I do not have a sewing machine and nor do I know how to use a sewing machine. I had been thinking of making a pouch which involves less sewing and then I got this idea. since both sides of the leg of the pants are already stitched, I only had to stitch up the third end to make into a pouch. As soon as I got some free time, I put this idea into working. I stitched my nephew's name coz I did not have any other idea in mind and also I have been thinking of making something for him with his name on it. And you know what, it exactly fits his Samsung Tab. He is so very happy to have a pouch with his name. Here is a detailed tutorial on how I made the pouch

In the end I had to add a zip or button. I did not have button ready at home. And adding zip required sewing machine(did not have a zip also ready at home). Since Rishith was gonna use it for his Tab it did not require full zip so I thought why not add a little ribbon bow, just to prevent the Tab from sliding out. And here it is all done.

With the Samsung Tab

  10. Wow, this is so cool. Am gona try this one.
You can also try sandwiching a 'collar sheet' into the grey sides. This will give it subtle and good stiffness. Am not sure what the 'collar sheet' is called, but its a white sheet which is used for collars and ladies' salwar necks. You can get it at any tailor shop!
    Loved the idea! Thanks.

    1. Hey that's a good idea. Coz I was thinking on folding the fabric twice to give it the stiffness.I will try the collar sheet next time. Thanks a lot for the suggestion
